Recently, I
was able to attend the Juvenile Diabetes No Limits Foundation candlelight bowl. This event was packed in support of the
organization committed to the Check B4U Drive campaign for teen drivers. Check out the newly added link to
this organization on the 'Website Links' tab.
COMMIT-TED is in the planning stages
for 2012.......
Of course, Cups For Camp
will be available in the spring for those families that would like to fundraise to help send their child to diabetes camp
next summer.
Our Moraine Valley CC Informational Event in June was a huge success, and more informational
events will be available next year - but these will be smaller and more intimate, to foster interaction between parents
and caregivers. It takes a tremendous effort to put on a conference, and the next one will be planned for 2013.
Its been much too long since our last kids get-together. In the tradition of our popular events
in the past, I hope to put something together for old friends to reconnect, and newly diagnosed children to make new friends.
COMMIT-TED hopes to strengthen its working relationships with local diabetes centers and to
continue to support their programs when possible.
Every year is uniquely different. COMMIT-TED has limited resources to try to make an impact.
But due to the generosity of many, this year we were able to send some kids to camp, send some families to a weekend
conference in Cincy, put on our own conference, and support the programs of local diabetes centers.
Save The Date! Next year, the 8th Annual COMMIT-TED Golf Outing will be held on June 30th!
